Moto G6 Plus shadow on the screen

2018-06-14, 12:52 PM

Hello everyone,

I'm happy owner of g6 plus (also g5 s plus) since 2 week about.

This morning I saw that the circular widget (battery, weater and time) leave a shadow on the screen.

Opening an other app which have dark backgrouond it is extremly easy to see it and also there are visible shadow from app icon I have on main screen.

It's sound terrible for what usually it means.....

Any clue opr suggestion or check to perform?

Thanks for any reply.

F.

Hello frankastle,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are ready to assist here.  There are generally two items that you can check for in situations like this:

1. Do you have your screen brightness turned up very high?

2. Do you have your screen timeout time turned up very high (like more than two minutes)?

Either of these could contribute to ghost images, burn-in, etc. We recommend turning down brightness from the highest levels and not leaving the screen on for long periods of time. Both of these steps will also save battery life.

JM

Hi, thanks for answering first of all :)

Good to know as suggetion but I own also g5s plus since 1 year about and it never get this kind of shadow also taking display always on during charge (on g6 I have not enabled it).

actual timeout for screen turnoff is 15sec.

brightness is around 50-60% and from 10pm to 8am is active the function to reduce the blue color.

Thank you. Would you please update your profile with the IMEI number of your phone? Is it okay if we look into your apps? This will help us investigate. Make sure that your Motorola Privacy is enabled. If you need a reference in updating your profile, please click this link. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Would you also share some pictures showing the shadows you are referring to?

Re: Moto G6 Plus shadow on the screen

HI, sorry for the delay but I was a little bit busy.

making a screen shot cannot see the shadow (burn in) on it because it's on display not on image that is a stream saved by the phone function.

by the way, I found out the reason why: taking the phone connected on charger I'm used to make call conference using vivavoce (speakerphone) and in this way the screen keep always on.

in one hour of call the burn in come up..... and it takes more than 2 hours to disappear.

I'm not sure this kind of behaviour can be considered normal.

for the imei I will upload on profile but for the app list I wuold give u complete if needed.

A picture taken by another device or camera will be helpful so we will be able to see what you are actually seeing on the device. We will also wait for you to update the IMEI number and carrier information in your Forums profile.
