Moto G6 (plus) 2nd/3rd mic causes call and video recording issues

2019-02-04, 23:43 PM
I have seen these problems around and i have both of them, somehow connected :
Phone : Moto G6 plus, xt1926-3 , Android 8.0 , OPWS27.113-89-5, reteu .
1. Straight out of the box the video recording has a terrible background noise. No update had fixed it. In complete silence you can hear a lot of static.
Tested : after fresh factory reset, after all updates done ( no other apps installed). Tried other video recording apps, no success (including open camera, it just lowers the hole sound using only the front mic)
2. Call recording using 3rd party apps (because there is no default app for that).
The sound is muffled, low and full of static. Tested 20+ apps. The calls are ok on both sides, the call recording is bad on both sides, it may start ok in the first 10-20 seconds but the voice is decreasing in volume until it's covered by static noise.
Calls are 3G/4G, no VoLTE, normal speaker ( no loud speaker, no Bluetooth). The apps are working ok on other phones, including older moto g's : Call Recorder by Killer Mobile , Call Recorder - ACR by NLL, Call Recorder by Boldbeast Software Inc. and the list continues.
Partial solution : plugin a pair of headsets with no mic ( no hands-free, just normal 3.5 mm jack headphones). The sound is crystal clear, on both sides, noise cancellation does not work (the recording picks up surrounding noise and the other side hears it as well, but it's ok, the voices are loud and clear, no static).
Tested with original cover on and off, tested the mic in moto help app = loud and clear , disabled all sound capturing apps ( like moto voice or google assistant).
It sounds like a software problem rather than a hardware one. Rooting is not an option because of a banking app and warranty void ( the phone has under 2 months) .
Is there a way to test all 3 mics, one by one? Is there a way to disable the noise cancellation during calls ?
Is there a planned update fix for these issues?
