Moto g6 shuts down randomly over the last few weeks.

My 10 month old moto g6 shuts down after the pie update. I have to hold down the power button for a while to get the phone to start again, and this is getting irrititating. Please advise.

Thank you for reporting, sorry to hear about that. May I know how frequently do you notice this? Can we quickly test in Safe Mode to see if this is an app issue? To go into Safe Mode, press the physical power key, then press and hold the pop-up " Power off" key until the Safe Mode instructions pop up. Reboot your device to get back to the 'Normal Mode'.

Hi Swaraj! Thank you so much for the quick response. I tried all the instructions from the support
[1] Reboot the phone
[2] Install available updates
[3] Close apps you're not using
[4] Check available storage and clear space if needed
[5] Use Safe mode to check apps
[6] Reset the phone

I assumed the issue was resolved, however, it shutdown randomly today.

Will be doing flashing the device and checking as per the guidance

Thanks for reverting, well if you notice this in 2-3 days--it is difficult to replicate in Safe Mode as you may have to put your device in Safe Mode for close to 72 hours.

 

At this point, having your device perform Factory Data Reset without restoring any apps would be the next logical option.

 

Keep us posted on how it goes? Make sure to take a back up of your important files--so you do not lose them.
