Poor speaker quality after pie update Moto g6 plus

2019-03-31, 19:23 PM

Updated my g6 plus to pie and have noticed that the speaker quality has deteriorated from Oreo.

Became really noticeable when using Google maps and YouTube. Real tinny sound and also significantly quieter. The loud speaker was brilliant before this update it is now appalling. Also Dolby is constantly on and only has a couple of settings which is poor. When trying to switch it off in quick toggle a message comes up at bottom of screen saying cannot turn off when loudspeaker in use or something like that anyway.

Really annoyed as I use my phone alot for media without headphones and quality is too poor now to do so. Is there a fix? If not I want to be refundedas I feel this is a ploy to update to Moto g7 by making speakers worst.

Hi I have the same problem, a lot of us are complaining but nobody answers!!

It seems a 1980s speaker!!

Terrible experience with Lenovo and Motorola... very good devices but horrible update policy!

I put some masking tape over the speaker. Rubbed it with something pointy like a screw and repeat. Mine was bunged up with a sweat and dust combo and is like new again.
