Dear AgentMan Swaraj:

 

Do you have at hand, right there in your desk drawer, every model phone for every forum you handle, and...for every country variation of said model? That would sure save a whole lot of back and forth plus some of your playbook instructions seem country specific.

 

Suggestion #1. You can't post on this forum without having an IMEI in your profile. Also - maybe - yes/no buttons to allow Moto to view or access installed apps or whatever they need to do to diagnose a problem.

Appreciate your questions and feedback. I'll do my best to respond here.

We sure try, across our global team, to do this. Our forum team has members in each region and we try to have examples of each model somewhere, but we do not have every model everywhere. We meet daily as a team and in most cases one of the teams has the phone we want to investigate.

 

You can't post on this forum without having an IMEI in your profile.

We have learned over time to try and keep the barrier to entry here as low as possible -- that is, to ask any potential member to do the least amount of work possible to join the forums. Every time you ask for an additional piece of information, a certain percentage of people give up on the registration process. Adding the IMEI is kind of difficult so we back off on that. But yes, it's a really good idea. 

 

Also - maybe - yes/no buttons to allow Moto to view or access installed apps or whatever they need to do to diagnose a problem.

Another good idea, though it may require some development. We'll put it on the list.
