Security Update PPSS29.118-15-11-5 fails to install , locks up phone

2020-01-23, 17:05 PM

G6

Hardware: PVT 2

Mdl #: XT1925-6

*** Removed***

Running PIE

32gB

Current version: PPSS29.118-15-11-2

Auto downloaded. Prompts to install. Estimates 10 mins.

When attempting to install the progress bar shoots to about 20% and then gets stuck there. I let it sit all night (8 hours) but no further movement of the progress bar.

Battery at 95% with strong WiFi.

Tried restarting by holding down the power button but it just reverts to the install screen.

I can get the phone to re-boot from the recovery screen by pressing 'QUALCOM'.

When it re-starts it displays a message: "Update failed" and keeps prompting to "INSTALL NOW".

Any way to decline this until the bugs are worked out?

Thanks to all in advance.

Mike

Hi Hosermike,

Sorry to know about this. I would suggest you try updating through LMSA. Kindly check the link here. Performing the Rescue option will reset your phone, it should not be necessary. However, you can take a back up of your data just in case.

Regards,

Suman
