Dear Sir,

Dolby Audio can't be turned off. There is no such option. Pl. Find attachment.

Well, yes it can if you have earphones plugged in. But not if you are listening via the speaker.

Hey all,

I know that this might only help a few but still it's worth restarting your phone. It has resolved my issue.

Hope this helps, if not I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Speaker issue after Android pie update#moto g6

2019-06-29, 11:52 AM

In May I bought a G6. I immediately noticed that the volume of voice calls seemed very low. Since the phone technically "worked"" I tried to ignore the problem, but the aggravation of not being able to hear callers clearly is definitely a problem. In order to hear callers I must increase the volume to the highest level. At that point the sound is loud enough but is very distorted. The voice quality on "speaker" seems fine. Also, the sound from videos seems fine. I received permission to return the phone for a replacement, but since I would be without a phone for the two weeks I decided to be clever and buy a second G6 on sale. Unfortunately it has precisely the same problem. As far as I can tell, everything else on the phone works fine. I just wish I had a....phone. Is there any sort of fix on the horizon?

G6 Speaker very low after Android pie update

2019-07-08, 13:07 PM

After updating my Motog G6 to Pie my speaker volume is extremely low.

This affects both music/podcasts/ringtones/alarms and even calls.

Using earphones works though! So this must be the speaker.

Factory reset did not help.

Safe mode did not help.

Nothing blocks the speaker - the phone is new.

The phone is not usable without earphones right now.

My IMEI is *removed*

Build no. is PPS29.55-34

I have created a bug report which I can upload.

Let me know if you need any more info.

erh, why was my post moved here? The "solution" to this thread´s question has nothing to do with speaker volume?!

Hi robotjox,

Sorry to hear about the ongoing issue you have been facing. Could you confirm if you have tested your device speaker with Hardware test? To do so: locate Moto help app > Hardware test > Speaker > test and let us know how it goes?

If this fails, the next logical option would be to have your device sent for service/repair for further assistance.

Regards,

Swaraj

I have used the test.
If I am not mistaken the test consists of listening to a spoken sentence. After that the phone asks if I can hear the sentence. That's it.
Of course I can hear it - it is just very low?!

So the Pie update basically killed my phone. And I agree: my next logical option will be to have my device sent in for repair and of course choose another phone manufacturer next time.

Thanks and regards
