Motorola Moto G6 Unresponsive screen

Have had the phone for about 2 weeks. All of sudden today, the screen stopped responding. I can't do anything - I can't restart, I can't turn it off.

 

The volume control still works. The battery is still degrading. The clock on the screen still works.

 

Otherwise, the phone does not work.

 

I didn't drop it and to my knowledge, it did not touch water.

 

What could be the problem?

Sorry to learn about the trouble, it looks like a hardware issue to me. However, you can test this by letting your device discharge completely and charge again and test? If the touch issue still persists then our next option would be service/repair.

@Homeromoto,

 

You would need a 'Chromecast' to do so.

  1. Open settings > Display > Cast.
  2. Connect the chrome cast device in your TV's HDMI port.
  3. Enable wifi on your phone.
  4. Connect with chrome cast in your phone.
  5. When connected you will see a relevant symbol on your TV status bar.
  6. That's all.

It's 2160x1080 for the G6 and G6 plus. The G6 play is the phone with the 1344x720 screen. I know, because that's the phone I bought for my dad. And of course, it's on the Motorola web site under specifications for these phones.

To be honest... the North American versions have the most bands from CDMA and GSM networks loaded onto them. They'd be great for anyone that lives outside the US, but happens to travel frequently to North America.

Too bad those models aren't dual SIM. They should be.

I have the same issue with my wife's G6 but it only last a couple of minutes. I'm in the process of replacing it hopefully the new one won't have the same issue.

I bought this phone two days ago and its been a terrible experience thus far. North America, USA. NEW G6 Gold. Phone looks beautiful. Except the back isnt solid OR DURABLE like last years. Received the phone in the evening, first day of use phone lags extremely bad for a brand new phone. The processor is an obvious downgrade from the g5+; Y downgrade?? Had to put on a charge after 4 hours of use and took about 2 hours to charge to 95%!!! The glass back is slippery on surfaces and slid off of a step dropped, about 12 inches to the concrete, and the back has cracked... already??!. The g5+ was a tank, but that charging port was a fail, as is the issue with moto dating back to the original Moto droid X!!!  I'm also noticing that since the phone slid off of the step, that the charging is not registering while the phone is on, and seems to be cycling with the phone off.... I WOULD NOT RECOMMENT THIS PHONE TO A G5+ USER, IF YOUR CHARGING PORT WENT AND YOU LOVED THAT PHONE, JUST BUY ANOTHER G5+ THIS PHONE IS TRASH!
