What’s this sensor?

2019-08-24, 15:02 PM

There is a small aperture on the rear of the G6 at the bottom of the rear of the case towards the left. What is it for?

Referring to the XT1925-6 model... It's a microphone; 1 of 3. Can you spot the other 2?

One on the top edge and one on the bottom front? Why so many?

My guess- The front one is obvious: telephone & video voice over. The rear one: audio for video recording. The top one: bit of a mystery. Seems it would just pick up ambient garbage. You could contact Moto @: https://support.motorola.com/us/en/contactus

Hi sc000,

Appreciate your post. If you're talking about the small pin-hole at the top left and the bottom right beside the fingerprint - those are microphones. The one on the top is the secondary mic which is responsible for video recordings and the one on the bottom the primary mic is for calls.

Best regards,
Rich

I'll amend my answer in re: the Top mic. It may be useful for conference calls.
