XT1925-6 shuts down

2020-08-29, 12:58 PM

A couple times now I've found my phone powered off for no reason. And on turning on, it seems to sit at the startup screen for quite a long time before flashing the different colors and continuing. This isn't normal, do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

the phone generated a 4.47 MB zip bug report on it's own after picking it up first thing in the morning. Any chance someone somewhere can look at it sometime if I uploaded it somewhere?

My ability to keep running in safe mode is very limited. I did uninstall a couple apps but it didn't help.

Hi,

Sorry to know about your device. This is unusual, have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If not, can you try testing the device in Safe Mode?

Check and let me know if the issue persists in Safe Mode. I will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Suman

Hi Dude777,

Thanks for getting back on this thread. It looks like we don't need bug report regarding this. Can you please confirm if your phone didn't have random/auto shut down? If so, try uninstalling third-party apps you previously installed prior to this issue.

Otherwise, we would suggest doing factory data reset without restore. Backup important files/apps first so you won't lose them. Once done with the factory data reset, set up your phone without restoring any apps/files. See if there's improvement.

Settings > System > Reset Options > Factory Data Reset

Best regards,

So I needn't be concerned about a system generated (not user requested) bugreport?

Hi Dude777,

Did you enable the developer options in the Settings? The phone wouldn't create a bug report if developer options is disabled and the bug report was not enabled in the developer settings or triggered by pressing the Power button and then choosing bug report from the menu. But, I'll ask around. At this point, it is recommended to do troubleshooting. Thanks.

I've had developer options enabled for years. I did not trigger the report from any menu. I've gone to settings - help and done all I can. All that's left to do is a factory reset but since this report wouldn't have been generated had I not turned on developer options, I'll just turn it off and deal with it. Thanks.

Hi Dude777,

Thanks for confirming. I would recommend keeping the developer options turned off when not in use to avoid such thing. Please let me know if you've tried doing factory data reset as suggested. Also, try calibrating the battery

If you are experiencing incorrect or inconsistent battery level, quick battery discharge, slow or erratic charging speeds, or sudden power off or rebooting, a battery calibration could correct the problem.

To perform a battery calibration:

  1. Force reboot the device by holding the power button until the device reboots
  2. Plug into supplied charger
  3. Charge to 100% and leave on the charger for at least an additional hour after getting to 100%
