Re: low speaker volume on phone calls

I've got a fix that worked for us!

In the settings>sounds>Dolby audio.  Enable it, that fixed it for us.  (Speakerphone was dreadfully low volume, useless in all but a quiet room). Enabling Dolby put it at a great volume, usable in a car.

Edit: g6 phone, fully up to date

This is an issue on my new Motorola E5 also. It's fully updated. It has two-thirds the volume capacity when using the phone compared to any other activity on the device. It is not enough to hear the other person in a phone call. It has to be a quiet room and the phone has to be set to maximum call volume. It needs to be given another half of what it already has. At minimum. I'd double it honestly. Some of us have loud jobs and need to communicate by phone in the field. If you doubled the max capacity, you would do everyone a favour. Please include the g5's if you the company decided to fix this in an update. Thank you for your time.

Re: low speaker volume on phone calls

2019-01-10, 22:32 PM

Hello

We have the same problem bought a new g6 for my mom at Christmas who uses a hearing aid.  Just to be clear the call volume means (hard to hear people speaking when the phone is up to your ear) I have a Samsung 7 and she can hear mine so I no it's not just her hearing.  The volume is really low when you are talking on the phone, compared to my Samsung 7.   When you use the speaker button the volume  is fine and loud enough but she does not want to use that option all the time.

2nd problem for me is I don't see the hearing aid compatibiltiy button to work around this....it is not located in the accessabilities tab of the phone or the phone app.  Any advice? Found it!!!! click phone app like you are going to make a call then ,select 3 dots on right....settings....acccessiblility...there it is!   hearing aid button doesn't show up if you go through moto g6 setting or app info settings:0(

update---WE FOUND THAT THE HEARING AID OPTION DOESN'T MAKE IT BETTER STILL REALLY QUIET.... really dissappointing.

The phone is has also been updated.

Please help!!!! Maybe most people just deal with it or use a headset but it seems like this has been an ongoing problem Motorola needs to address and not just for people with hearing difficulties.

Shonna,

Same problem with the two Moto G6 phones that I bought as Christmas presents.

Plenty of volume when listening to audio books and music etc but wisper low when trying to hear a phone call.

This **bleep** thing is useless as a phone!   But hey, who buys a phone expecting to be able to actually hear something?

it makes for a nice small tablet.

There are JUST TOO MANY people reporting this obvious Bug in ALL Moto G models from the 3 through 6, X, Z etc. and Lenovo is doing nothing about it Also the Android update 6 has broken the "move apps to Ext SD Card" feature (making especially the 8GB models virtually useless) and again Lenovo is doing NOTHING about this too. I think it's time for a Class Action Lawsuit against Lenovo who has obviously caused and it responsible for both problems!!

Use other dialer apps, no problem there. It's an SW issue, not HW.

Rather than just making a bold unsubstantiated claim like that ("It's an SW issue, not HW"), how about you reference an exact alternate "dialer app(s)" they you KNOW works to solve the No Sound issue???

In doing 4 months of very thorough research on this issue, I have not seen a single other post that this issue is software caused. Not a single person has reported other than it started suddenly, out of blue, and not after installing another app.

And BTW, I bought a BRAND NEW, new out of the box Moto X Play that had this problem immediately first time run, first call. How did that get out of the Factory QC not working if it's a SW bug???

Put a App link to your claim. Otherwise I call a big BS from a first time, one time poster.

Sure,

I tried WePhone, CallApp and, Drupe instead of the build in Phone app, all worked perfectly well. Annoying that they have their adds but the hearing quality is what it should be.

Thank you so  much for the tip on the Hearing Aid feature. I just purchased a moto g6 and moto g6 Play and they both had the same problem. Low volume, this doesn't seem acceptable to me regardless of price of phone. Volume was created long before the other 20 million apps available for use and purchase.  Both phones are now producing volume at acceptable levels, crisp and clear. Thanks again for your help.
