Google Pay not working after latest update

Last night I installed the latest update offered by Motorola on my G8 Plus. Today I tried to use GPay as always but was getting an error that the device isn't certified. I checked under Google Play settings and it states that the device is not certified. I want to revert to previous update but I'm not sure how.

Hi Azzacalabaza,

 

Thanks for posting. Once the update is installed in the phone it cannot be undone. Can you send us the screenshot of the Play Protect Certification? If there is any personal information on that screenshot please censor it.

Hi Zeke. 

 

I will try taking a screenshot next time I go to pay for something. 

 

I read somewhere on the internet you can disable Google Play and clear all the cache, which I've done so i'll keep you updated if that sorts the problem out.

So it seems disabling google play to clear all cache and re-enabling again did the trick. I was able to make a purchase today with no problem.
