How to make Google keyboard sync?

2016-01-08, 12:27 PM
Guys, I have a problem. I have Google keyboard dictionary syncing grayed out on Moto X Force (both on Lollipop and Marshmallow). I had the same set of accounts on Droid MAXX (Android 4.4.4). One of them is business Google account, but the dictionary was syncing.
And now this feature doesn't work. I tried to remove Google account for business, but it changed nothing.
It drives me crazy to fill the dictionary again.

Is there a solution how to enable Google keyboard syncing on Moto X Force?

Your work account needs to allow it in the Android Device Policy. You company needs to allow it.

I don't think that is the case:

  1. My company doesn't manage android devices.

  2. Even if I remove Company's account from device - the syncing is still grayed out.

  3. On Droid MAXX it was working with the same accounts and the same settings

I suspect Google changed something in Lollipop and Marshmallow.

I can get to it on Nexus and Pure. But i don't have that line about Google apps for business accounts on either of my other phones. Somehow i think it is related to that.

You need to install one of the older versions of gboard, you've switch on sync  and update gboard again, you'll have it. Stupid but works :)
