Moto x force - 1 month old and green screen

2016-07-26, 19:14 PM

Hi,

My phone has developed a fault where everything is green and sometimes it flickers.

I spoke to the live chat yesterday who said they'll sort it out but i have recieved an email saying that this will be chargeable?! The phone has not been dropped, has no cosmetic damage and is only a month old.

surely this is under warrunty?

What country are you in? Have you sent the phone in yet? Is the email is just a stock notification that you could be charged if not warranty?

Hey graced,

It doesn't sound like an out of warranty fault to me, keeping in mind you just purchased it recently.

The repair centre will check your phone and then determine the warranty. As long as there is no water damage, modification of the software or physical damage you should be fine.

The call centre agents are supposed to advise you if they catch something that could be chargeable so there is no bad surprise waiting, but that's what it is: advisory.

I can check the case for you if you PM me your email address?

Cheers,

Nicole

So after talking to a service rep on the live chat, they have said the my phone has been rooted

Like i've said, i've had the phone for a month and used it as a smart phone.. I don't even know what rooted means let alone how to attempt it.

I will be contacting the Citezins Advice if this isnt resolved as i've been clearly sold a faulty phone that is not as advertised

I recommend you PM the agent that was helping you above - She is a Motorola employee.

So i've been told the phone will be repaired 'free of charge'... But i have not had an answer to whether i still have a valid warranty or if the phone will be sent back still 'rooted'.

I do not want a rooted phone returned to me and if i do not have a valid warranty any longer then i will be escalating this further

You should contact the CS people that are fixing this directly. Private message should be faster.
