Moto x play soundpiece & proximity sensor

2018-03-18, 21:18 PM

Hi there,

My phone earpice sometimes does not work. I would hear absolutely nothing until i knock the earpiece and then the sound comes back on. This is so annoying as i have to knock the phone now to hear someone during a call. Also the proximity sensor is not working now either. The phone has not been physically damaged or dropped. I have factory reset the phone and its still the same. Possible fault?

Thanks

Hi ryanm353,

You have quite an annoying situation with your phone indeed. We are ready to assist here. Let's do some steps to root cause this concern. First, does your phone have a case or a screen protector? If you have any, can you test without them on? Second, please go to the Device Help app and test the affected hardware. Let me know what the results are.

Regards,

JM

It does not have a case or screen protector. The sensor failed the test and the earpiece did also, but its working intermittently. how much would this cost to get repaired? im out of warrenty. thanks
