Where do you see this error? Also, android and windows/mac treat card errors differently. Just because it is readable in a card reader doesn't mean there are no errors on card.

Is this card formatted as external or internal.

Hi Sirikondasri,

Test with another card in the phone. If the phone can read another card, then recommended to backup data on the old card using computer and format it again to see if the phone can read it then.

I am not sure if the Yoga tabs are different or not - this forum is for moto phones, so we can only advise on that.  I suggest you post in the lenovo tablet Forums.

Cards can get corrupted if the os crashes while accessing, bad card, or other reasons. Cards formatted as adopted storage seem more prone to corruption, which makes sense as it doesnt take much to make them unreadable.

There are also many counterfeit cards being sold that fail very quickly too.

Re: command 10 volume partition disk :179,64public failed with '400 10 command failed

2017-11-17, 0:36 AM

I have a Moto X Play XT1562 which was running with a 128 GB San Disk Card for 10 months. 4 weeks ago it suddenly told me that the SD card is corrupted. I tried another 32 BG San Disk card on the same phone. Issue was the same. It offers to reformat the cards
If I try to reformat a card as portable it stucks at 20% and returns an error command '14 volume partition disk:179_64 public' failed with '400 14 Command failed' ( numbers are different every time).
If I try to format the card as internal it stucks at 30%.
Contents of the cards was perfectly accessible in my computer with an adapter => no card issue.
I reformated the cards as NTFS. When I put them in the phone, the issue remains.
I performed a factory reset of the phone -> issue remains.
Today Android Nougat update came and after installing it the issue still remains.
Based on that I would state that it is definitely not a card issue as cards can be read in other devices.
If it was a software issue, the upgrade from Marshmallow to Nougat should have resolved it.
I come to the conclusion that this should be a hardware issue ( card reader or motherboard of the phone).

I am continuing searching for a resolution by myself.

Performed also wipe cache partition of the phone.

Now I m formatting again the card in the computer in exFat partition ( previously NTFS did not work for me). If it does not work will also try FAT32.

The issue with the SD card seems to be quite a common problem.

After spending several weeks i ntrying to resolve it unsuccessfully I finally sent my Moto X Play for a repair.

However I think there should be an official statement from Lenovo what to do in case this problem appears.

I belive it is a Hardware issue and will keep you informed what has happened afer I get my phone back.

I have my phone back repaired. The motherboard was replaced. Now it recognizes the SD card.
