4G connectivity

I was sitting with a friend who has a Moto X 2014 and he had a 4G connection while my Moto X Pure Edition (2015) had 3G.  We were sitting next to eachother and both have the same carrier.  Why did this happen?

Re: 4G connectivity

Hi tocaff,

Have you checked if your Preferred Network Type is set to 4G? Do you have 4G sim card inserted?

What regions are the phones for? The X Pure was USA only. The Style was for other regions. The 2014 X had many variants.

My first guess is that your X Pure does not have the LTE bands for your carrier.

Re: 4G connectivity

My phone was purchased in the US model XT1575.  His phone was bought in Brazil, 32 GB Moto X 2014.  I normally have 4G connections, except in some areas.

I would compare the LTE bands of both phones with each other and with your carrier. Likely your carrier has different bands in different areas and the Pure phone doesn't have some of the carrier bands.

Re: 4G connectivity

Supposedly the XT 1575 is 100% compatible from everything I've seen.
