Before I got my SIM my phone only updated to the February Security Patch, after inserting my SIM last night I got the May patch.

I can't wait to get 6.0.1, I swear my new Moto X experiances some lag/stutter compaired to my old Nexus 5.

I just got the Moto X and I didn't realize there was a delay in these updates.

I was going to get the Nexus 6P, but I looked at one at Best Buy and liked the display on the Moto X more.

I'm beginning to think I made the wrong choice.

This is May update based on 6.0 (just got it this morning).  It's still not the 6.0.1 that most users are waiting for,

Had to remove the SIM card to get the update.  Carrier = Verizon.  Updated without issue.

Well, based on what we're seeing, MXPE isn't likely to be receiving any significant software support beyond it's current state. So unless you like this phone enough as it is now, you need to start looking at other options.

I'll look at the 6P again. The one I looked at was way over saturated on it's display. I don't know if it was just that demo unit or if they are just like that.

It's amazing how paranoid some folks are.

Notice how the above linked Droid Life article dated July 20, 2016, reads, in part,

"....Forget how bad that sounds for a second and consider the fact that even with today’s update, the phone is still not on Android 6.0.1. Android 6.0.1 with all of its fun emoji, was released by Google in December of last year. ..."

The link within that Droid Life article takes you to another Droid Life article dated December 7, 2015.  It reads, in part,

"Outside of the new and updated emoji, the update doesn’t bring much. Ars Technica got a hold of it and said that one of the noteworthy changes is a navigation button layout tweak on tablets (Edit: Or that could only be for the Pixel C, not any others), where the recent apps button moves to the far bottom right corner, while the back and home buttons slide over to the left..."

Note that the Moto X Pure Edition is not a tablet.  It's a phone.

Is this minor stuff worth all of the nonsensical paranoia in this forum about Android 6.0.1 for the past few months and sixteen pages?  I think not.
