Ugh, the translated page was horrendous..

According to Google Translate it reads:

"Unfortunately the rollout of the Android 7 update for the Moto X series is expected to be delayed until May. We ask for your patience."

May would be an absolute joke.

Most manufacturers would rather you buy a new phone than update it.  Engineering resources are already split between the new device Lenovo is showing soon at MWC (likely 2nd gen Moto Z) and older devices.

It's probably time to move on.  I'm just waiting to see the new crop of 2017 devices.

Are you going with another Moto/Lenovo?

Actually this continued delaying of 7.0 makes me kind of nervous about what kind of quality 7.0 update will be once its released. Will they support it and US once the bugs begin to emerge...

I love this phone and it runs well on 6.0 but i dont like that moto is focusing solely on 7.0 to fix everything and not releasing ANY security updates as they develop the 7.0 release.

Most likely not.  I'm only willing to support an underdog if there's noticeable improvements in operation.  Moto has become substantially worse off, unfortunately.

Soon, though, the mobile market will stagnate, as chips below 7nm, specifically 5nm, will take longer and cost substantially more to produce.  The yearly hardware update cycle (by manufacturers) will soon end by 2019 or so.  The Moto Z can capitalize on that with Moto Mods, sure, if they play their cards right.

In the meantime though, I'll keep my options open.  The iPhone looks like a leading candidate.  I'm tired of Android's constant issues with its Bluetooth stack.  Pixels are having terrible issues right now.

I understand you, but the iPho es are probably going to lose a lot of support, and pretty quick too. The main issue I see for Apple in the very near future is a lot of resentment from the general user, I personally don't think adapters are all that appealing, and I really don't enjoy plugging in my phone as it seems to be the same issue every time, charger cord frays, whether it be visible or not, ports going bad, etc. I know that there are "rapid charging" *modules* for say, but I personally think that wireless charging is a HUGE game changer, it could improve the overall water resistance of a device, and it could keep dust, sand, dirt, etc. out of a devices' ports and on the inside. On top of all that, some companies are working on "rapid charging" wireless chargers, like Samsung for example, but the overall usability of this can vary, if you like to use your phone while it charges, move files to and from your phone (easily) from a computer, or you don't like change oppose changes to anything, no matter how simple the resistance, there is always someone who has something to say, but I do have a suggestion, instead of getting an iPhone, why not instead buy a Lenovo phablet with AR "inside", although it comes with sh**ware. Overall, Motorola makes VERY nice phone's that have features that are Very stable, and are not likely to mess up, and they do have security in mind, so why not just consider sticking around to see what comes next? It can't be that bad, right?, and who knows, you might be impressed!

Now I am a nobody, and my input makes no difference in your choice, and I can respect your choice on a new device, but I personally don't want to carry around a ton of adapters to charge my phone, plug in an AUX cord, or other simple stuff, but I know Motorola provides QUALITY devices that will make it to the next contract agreement, and that I can put up with, but there are flaws, and I want to see some features, but I won't let that get me down. So go forth and don't get into trouble!

as long as they give us a stable version of android 7 ( i guess they will give 7.1.1 ) am okey with the delaying :) they no need to rush the update. and pretty sure nobody wanted a half baked os with full of bugs.

Does the MXPEs software or hardware have anything to do with its ability to have 7.0?

Great question for the Motorola engineering department.  However, they don't participate in this peer-to-peer forum.
