I just checked my phone on & off LTE, on & off Wi-Fi, with T-Mobile SIM in place, without SIM.

Same result.  Still no December update yet.

Yup!  After again pulling my T-Mobile SIM one day later the update downloaded, installed and is now optimizing.

I am on an MVNO version of T-Mobile. I pulled out the SIM card and it worked for me as well.

Out of curiosity to you T-Mobile users... can you share your APN Type that is setup on your active APN?

Does it include "fota"?

I am trying to figure out why T-Mobile users are not getting the update notification, but other carriers are. For AT&T Wireless my APN Type is "default, mms, supl, hipri, fota" but most T-Mobile APN Types I see are <blank>, "internet, mms", or "Internet+MMS", or the T-Mobile Android "generic" of "default, mms, supl"

APNs

T-Mobile US 260 LTE

fast.t-mobile.com

T-Mobile US DUN

pcweb.tmobile.com

First one was selected - i.e., green dot.  There is no hyphen in "tmobile" in the second one.

Edit.

I just Googled this link http://apn-settings.com/t-mobile-apn-settings-step-by-step-configuration/

If you open the APN, there is a field called APN Type inside the APN, that is what I am curious about... it is what tells the phone which connection to use for what type of data or service. The one with the "green dot" is the active APN.

Fair enough, thanks for replying, it was kind a shot in the dark anyway. I just know a lot of people on T-Mobile have issues getting OTAs, was looking for a common item that we were in control of.

I removed username, password, and server so that they remained "Not set", which is what T-Mobile recommends.

However, it's not the APN controlling OTA delivery.  It's Motorola's own Update Services that holds or delivers the update based on SIM.
