Re: Moto X pure edition 2018

For me the Moto x pure has been about the experience. Aside from the always warm running snapdragon 808, tiny 3000 mAh battery, and slow to non existant software updates, the experience from the camera, Moto actions, and Moto display has made me a moto fanboy.

I am, however, running out of patience waiting for a successor to my x pure. Moto z phones and Moto mods don't hold any interest to me. I dont like the thought of removing my case to slap on a speaker or battery. Having to buy and carry around accessories with my phone is a ridiculous concept.

Make a revised version of the Moto x pure for 2018 or 2019. Give it a huge battery, oled display, current processor, front facing speakers, a rear mounted finger print sensor and bring back Moto maker. Unlock the phone to all US carriers and push software updates promptly.  Present it at a $500-650 price point. Make it a One plus killer.

All your wishes would come true even before we thought of them except for it isn't Motorola anymore!

Ever since Google sold off Motorola to Lenovo, it's been downhill. I miss the Moto X and the motomaker experience..

I finally had to put my Pure to rest last week due to battery draining after 3hrs. This was after months of running Nougat. The spiritual successor (& the replacement I picked up) is the Razer phone, hands down. It has all the things you listed: dual front facing speakers (Atmos & THX certified), qualcomm 835, 8GB ram, 5.7" lcd (so maybe not all the things since it's not OLED) screen 1440p, 4000mAh battery, 64GB storage, expandable memory slot, currently running Oreo, & quick charge. It is missing the great Moto gestures, but there's gotta be a s/w patch/app that can add this. What brought the phone to my attention after all this time (it was released Nov 2017) was a sale they had 2 weeks ago that brought it down to $400. Unfortunately, it only lasted the weekend. It's back on sale now since the new one is dropping next month, but it's $500 now. If you feel extra froggy, you can pick it up on a secondary site like ebay or swappa for around $400. It is a shame that Lenovo (former Motorola) has forgotten about us & didn't grace us with one. Either way, it's a definite contender.

You can swap batteries on the pure. A little tedious and requires some special tools. Nothing that expensive. Jerry rig on YouTube has a video on removing the battery.

Razor phone huh? I'll have to check it out. What carriers does it work on?

I'm waiting to see what pixel 3 and OnePlus 6t brings to the table in October.
