Moto display app not compatible with my device

2016-09-19, 22:05 PM

I bumped the Moto display music controls thread as I was exasperated that the issue has not been fixed and a very helpful poster informed me that the latest version of Moto display has fixed the issue.

I went to google play to see if I had missed an update only to find Moto display isn't there! I searched and found it via Google and the page says 'not compatible with your device'. How on earth could that be the case? I have a stock Moto x style on 6.0, unrooted, locked bootloader that had never been unlocked.

Any ideas why this might be the case?

I would assume the Moto display app you are looking at is not the one for your device. Moto has different versions for different devices.

I don't know how to find the right one - I rely on the play store to find the right apps for me just by checking for updates.

Maybe uninstall updates for that app and then check for updates. Again. My Moto display works well with Google Music, but I will reply in the proper thread.

If it's not appearing in search results on the play store, this means there no version compatible with this phone on the play store at this moment.

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I'm having the same problem with two identical Moto X Pures (XT1575). One has Moto Display v3.16-M.12-S22.3-000 (original, broken stock), one has v3.27-M12-000 from September 21, while the current version is from October 6. Neither phone can find the app on the store, trying to open the app from a link just yields the stupid "not compatible with your device" error. It'd be really nice to be able to update the app so I have a functional version.

Moto X Style(2015 Clark) doesn't have a separate app named 'Moto Display'.

You will get three apps inbuilt with the phone namely.,

1) Moto

Version 3.0.49

2) Moto Actions

Version 02.037.02

3) Moto voice

version 8.0.24.1

Try finding these apps in Play Store and install them if any app from above is missing in your device.

I finally received 3.27-M from the Play Store.

Thanks for the update Jason, utterly baffling as to why this update pushed to some people a while ago and not others.
