X4 is of two types. Android one version and retail version. Android one version is provided updates directly by Google. So they will have up today software for the warranty period. Retail versions everywhere are sitting on 8.0 cause motorola pushes updates to retail versions (normal moto phones). It is because motorola usually pushes mostly 2 major updates for x line. Since they gave us 8.0, they waited to give us pie directly instead of just giving us 8.1 and leaving us there .

When pie will come for retail

I am totally aware of all that. Regular X4's in other Countries DID get the 8.1 update, but it never made it here.

Nah no one in India got 8.1 idk if Brazilians are updating from 8.0 to 9.0 or 8.1 to 9.0. Gotta look into it but I'm sure it's only Android one versions with 8.1

It will go to the various mobile operators, as it has to work with their network. So Motorola have to give them a version first, then they have to test it before it gets pushed out to their customers. So you can never say - there will not be a Global release date, like, say, a phone or Film

I just check my Android one X4 for updates. It said it was up to date with 8.1 November 2018 security update. So no Pie here yet, If it did release.

Nothing yet on my US - Android One, Moto X4 (not using Project Fi for my service). I have been mashing the system update check all day, but keep getting told that I am up to date with the 8.1 November version. Hopefully I get the Pie update by the end of the week.

Same here. I been checking all evening. I'm not on Google fi though. My phone does have the fi version of software but since they are all unlocked I'm on T-Mobile. Wonder if it's being push on Google fi network first.

I didn't do any comprehensive testing, but after couple of hours of usage, no problems observed. Looks nice actually, things seem to work as expected, and I do not have the issue with the "pill" gestures described here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-X4/Android-Pie-No-gesture-navigation-on-Moto-X4/m-p/4293925. Some screenshots attached.
