Contacts and phone apps

2018-03-21, 2:52 AM

If the stock contact and phone apps are based upon the Google stock apps when might we see the same functionality with caller ID, voicemail transcription and contact duplicate merge features?

There's a difference between stock Android and the versions of certain apps that Google loads on its own devices.  The dialer, for example, that looks up local businesses, is only available for Google devices.  It's their app and their decision.

Moto is running many stock Android apps.

Caller ID is a function of your carrier, not your app.  If your carrier offers it, and it's turned on, the phone will display it.

Caller ID on my phone is a function of a third party app. TMobile is my carrier.

Can we expect any updates to these two apps that will bring them in line with the functionality of their core counterpart?
