How about some positivity: anybody happy with the Pie update?

I'm still on Android 8.0 and hesitating to update, cause everythings working fine and my Moto G2 experience with an major rev jump was not so positive.

I've read some complaints here, but not that much. How about the other side? Anybody happy with the Pie update on his/her X4?

Thanks and Regards

All is OK for me, not a revolution, just some few things more!

Happy? Well, maybe a bit annoyed about "change for changes sake" in some of the user interface differences. But I'll get used to them.

Overall, nothing broken yet, but one thing I noticed, maybe someone else can chime in...

The screen is dimmer than it was before. I don't have the automatic brightness set, and I'll turn it down at night and back up in daylight.

But now, it seems I have to move the slider much farther to get a good daylight-readable display.

Is it just me?

Re: How about some positivity: anybody happy with the Pie update?

I heard about the clock being moved into the static, uncluttered space on the left, freeing up the crowded, dynamic right side.  Something to do with nachos.

But seeing it for the first time and feeling the benefits wash over me was overwhelming.  Why did Google wait so long?  How did we do without it for so long??

I jumped for joy and burst outside, running up and down the street shouting and waving with ecstacy my X4, "The clock is on the other side!" Drivers honked horns and flashed headlights as they rolled by. Euphoric passersby ran up to me, rejoicing, "Welcome to Pie!"

This is a change for the benfit of all humanity.

It's going to be a great 2019...

Re: How about some positivity: anybody happy with the Pie update?

:-)

I had issues with lagging and memory consumption after the update on my G2 years ago, but the X4 seems to have a much more powerful hardware base to handle the "clock on the other side" :-)

Since nobody of you mentioned that and since I never got accustomed to Android Auto It should be safe to upgrade.

Thanks and a Happy New Year

It's mostly just visual changes, there's not much changed other than that

Re: How about some positivity: anybody happy with the Pie update?

Pie update ruined motoX for me. I was extremely happy with my phone and now it's all working poorly and slowly. The digital unlock takes ages to unlock the phone, camera takes too long to open and apps too. Seriously, used to take 1s or less to unluck before, now I press the digital button and takes more than 5s. That can't be normal. For me, the sistem needs a lot more to be good

My battery is lasting much, much longer now. But I no longer see any indication of my reminders on the notification bar.
