Loose USB Port

2018-01-23, 20:58 PM

I have a new (1 week old) Moto x4 but have noticed that the USB type C charger that came with the handset is very loose and falls out of the USB port with little effort.

Before I move to assume the port on my device is damaged/vaulty, I'm wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with this particular handset?

Thanking the community in advance for feedback.

Hi

Have you tried any other Type-C charger with your phone? Or are you otherwise able to tell whether the fault is with the charger or with the USB port of the phone itself?

Kind regards

No, don't have another USB type C cable to try as of yet, hence just trying to get some feedback before I confirm over the weekend. I'll revert with update. If it's still loose, I think I'll go with what is suggested above while within 14 day return period.

Hi there

If you have the opportunity to return the device to retailer for replacement I would definitely advise you to do so. Where did you buy the device from?

Kind regards

I have since tried 2 different USB C chargers and they both fell out with minimal wriggling of the cable. I will have to return.
I purchased it on ibood.com

Sorry to hear that. It seems like the USB port of your device has developed a fault.

I'd advise you to speak to the retailer to arrange a return. Should you have any problem with that, we will provide you with information about the repair.

Kind regards

I have been in contact with the retailer and it appears my course of action is to get in touch with the supplier/manufacturer (Lenovo) and so I'll move forward with that and see where I get.
Thanks for the feedback.
