Is there some beta version of "Phone.apk" to solve that issue on X4, Motorola?

Test scenario

Android 8.0.0, build OPWS27.2.3

Security patch level: June 1, 2018

Motorola Version  OPWS27.57-40-17

Phone app build version 10.0

"Ok Google" disabled

Factory reset and no other apps installed or updated.

(There is no phone or audio app listed to upgrade in PlayStore)

Hi Leopoldino,

Does it work when calling on speakerphone? How about when you record videos? What is the result of your hardware test on the microphone?

Hi JM,

It works well during calling on speakerphone. No problems with videos as well.

I ran sucessfull tests with "device help" app and  "engineering mode". No problem was noticed.

In engineering mode > CQA Test/Audio > Mic loopback: I was able to hear the primary mic without any glitches.

Thank you

Leopoldino

The microphone problem started after the last major Android OS update in late July 2018.

Hi JM.

Any feedback for this issue?
Can I downgrade to Android 7.1?

Thank you

I'm afraid there is no way to revert back to a previous software version. In this regard, kindly backup all your data and perform factory data reset. I would also advise you to remove your Google account from the phone before proceeding with it. Make sure that you disable the Automatic Restore option. The steps are here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/indevice_detail/a_id/123481/p/30,6720,10317

After the reset, do not install your third-party apps all at once. Test the phone first with only the pre-installed apps on the phone. Then, install your third-party apps one at a time while continuing to observe if the issue will resurface.

Hi @

I already did this factory reset and posted here in 09-06-2018 10:59 AM quoted above. I sent logs in other post as requested, too.

There is no oficial way to resolve this software issue?

If there is no way to downgrade, how to upgrade to a developer version of Android 8.1?

I can live without transfer files via USB (the main known issue). I can't live without using phone to make calls.

Thank you

Leopoldino
