Moto X4 No Service

2018-08-19, 13:02 PM

I am on a Moto X4 and having the same issues. I am unable to connect to my service provider network after booting in Safe Mode, turning the mobile network off, reseting the APN settings, and on and switching sim with a working one. The sim card seems to be recognized as when I remove it, the no sim notification appears as expected. I checked for an update, but I am comletely up-to-date on my software.

Please advise

Hi no77ip,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We are ready to assist here. Just to be sure, does this happen at a specific location or regardless of where you are? Have you tried a different SIM card or a different carrier SIM (if you have access to any), just for testing?

Would you please update your profile with the IMEI number of your phone as well as your carrier? Is it okay if we look into your apps? This will help us investigate. Make sure that your Motorola Privacy is enabled.

If you need a reference in updating your profile, please click this link. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Since writing this last message the phone began to work, but as of last night it stopped again. I've added the IMEI to my profile and I have tried other SIM cards. I do not have one that is from another carrier, but I have tried at least 3 different cards.

I beleive that I have the privacy settings set correctly.

Please advise.

Kindly backup all your data and perform factory data reset. I would also advise you to remove your Google account from the phone before proceeding with it. Make sure that you disable the Automatic Restore option. The steps are here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/indevice_detail/a_id/123481/p/30,6720,10317

After the reset, do not install your third-party apps all at once. Test the phone first with only the pre-installed apps on the phone. Then, install your third-party apps one at a time while continuing to observe if the issue will resurface.

Completely restored as per instructions and I am still experiencing the same issue.

Is it time for a warranty replacement?

I have a problem similar to this.No verizon services.  when trying to place a call, get message to "Turn off airplane mode" but airplane mode is off. Turned it on then off didn't fix problem. Contacted verizon and they had me do a reset and also re-insert sim card. No help. They told me to get a new sim card but i'm travelling out of US. Android ver 9. Any suggestions????
