Re: Moto X4 is horrible after Android 9.0 Pie Update

As stated before. You will need to get your own OS or I have to move on. I like Motorola stuff, but it is not functional like this.

Hi.

We understand that Pie is different and may take some getting used to. Upgrades to the Android OS often have this impact and we've found that owners adjust fairly quickly. Of course, YMMD. You are welcome to complain here about how Pie works, but want to make it clear that we can't do anything about the core changes determined by Google.

However, if you feel that some aspect of the phone is not working correctly, we are standing by. Please provide details and we will help.

Regards,

- Matt

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

Re: Moto X4 is horrible after Android 9.0 Pie Update

I have no problems with the design of pie itself. What I have a problem with is how slow it performs on this phone.

It takes 4 seconds from when I hit the home button to minimize the screen, and another 4 seconds to open it up again.

This is what I find frustrating. It has to be a problem with the way pie is working on this phone. Not the OS, but the way it's implemented with Moto x4 itself.

Hi Emerillon,

Thank you for posting and for your feedback. Could you please create another thread for the Bluetooth sound concern providing more details of what you have noticed? Thanks.

Re: Moto X4 is horrible after Android 9.0 Pie Update

@MattForumsMngrThe biggest problem right now is with Android Auto. It randomly and repeatedly disconnects rendering it virtually useless. I missed a turn causing me a great loss of time today because of it.  Sometimes it'll work for a little while, and then all of a sudden, disconnect, sometime it will repeatedly disconnect.  VERY annoying, and since AA is my most important app, this is unacceptable.  Lenovo has been made quite aware of this issue.  I didn't experience it with 8.1, and I didn't  experience it on my G5 Plus.   FIX THE ISSUE

With 9.0, you can enable do not disturb, but you cannot disable it. It won't ring for the rest of its life. Man Frustrated

Re: Moto X4 is horrible after Android 9.0 Pie Update

After this update, my phone wasn't able to make or receive any calls. It was working up to the months before I decided to update it, but now it can't receive calls and whenever I make calls, the person in the other side is not able to hear me, nor am I able to hear them. While calling I don't even hear the dial tone anymore.

The layout of the home screen and task manager are also rather funky, so if possible, can I revert my phone back to the pervious version? Or at least get software that allows me to make calls? (Which is the whole point of having a phone)

Re: Moto X4 is horrible after Android 9.0 Pie Update

Hi Br21,

There's no native way to roll back to the previous OS. Is this intermittent and specific to your contacts? Looks like a bad reception to me. Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Need help updating your profile? See here
