Re: Moto x4 low volume after pie update

2019-02-26, 17:42 PM

I happened to visit a mobile repair shop and he said that this is a ring volume issue as this is invariably linked to the media volume i.e., the levels of volume cannot be different from each other. I'll show this to a Motorola Authorised Repair store to see if they too feel the same and give my feedback here as and when I get some concrete reason for the abysmally low speaker volume.

Re: Moto x4 low volume issue

2019-03-02, 5:38 AM

I am facing low volume on my Moto X4 device after the recent update. My phone is literally a month old. Can't expect this out of Moto. My entire family uses Moto devices.
I tried every possible thing. I tried a factory reset, then I tried engineer mode and Safe mode as well. Nothing seems to be working. Volume is at 20%. Please help me with this issue.

Hi Everyone,

Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Need help updating your profile? See here.

@GeeCee05,

Appreciate the steps you've tried. I'd like to confirm, did you restore your apps/files right after doing the reset?

Best regards,
Rich

Re: Moto x4 low volume issue

Has there been any resolution to this issue?  I have a brand new Moto X4.  Ringtone, alert volume, etc. were fine until I updated to Android 9.  Now the volume setting is set to max and I can barely hear ringtone, alerts, etc.

I have tried the following:

*Rebooting

*Starting in safe mode

*Resetting to factory default (tested with no third party apps installed, still no volume)

Hi,

It's OK for you to take a look. I've Updated my Profile, under Settings. Motorola > Privacy > both On

I'm not sure how you'll be able to look at my Apps and other details - do let me know, if anything else needs done.
To answer your question - After Pie Update, I reset to factory and then Restored my Backup.
Same result, no change in volume.
What i'm reading on some FB Groups, is that a speaker replacement helped.
Moto X4, 64GB, 6GB RAM. Purchased Dec. '18

Thanks !

Same here !! Did everything you did. Volume is significanly low.
What i'm reading on some FB Groups, is that, some customers insited and got their speaker changed under warranty.
That seems to have fixed the issues for many, others were politely refused.
Motorola needs to acknowledge if this a hardware fault, and just offfer free repairs.

@Agent_Rich : The profile has been updated. Please see what best can be done to fix this 'low volume on speakers' issue with MotoX4 which seems to be spread over a much wider user base than thought. Appreciate your support.
