Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low

As they abandoned development on the X5 I'm guessing that maintaining the X series is the least of their concerns. Probably hoping we give up and get a Z series or one of the new G6 series handsets.  Since Lenovo took over the ownership of the Moto brand they really seem to consider us an annoyance and would rather be rid of us.  Unfortunately it's just riling us even more and it's going to bite them in the ass sooner or later. Preferably sooner 🧐

Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low

Hi guys,

The last troubleshooting step is factory data reset. Kindly backup all your data and perform factory data reset. I would also advise you to remove your Google account from the phone before proceeding with it. The steps are here: https://support.motorola.com/us/en/products/cell-phones/android-series/moto-x4/tutorials#/device/mot...

After the reset, please make sure to test the phone BEFORE installing or restoring ANY apps. Let us let us know how it goes.

Hi guys,

The last step is to perform a factory data reset. Kindly backup all your data and perform factory data reset. If you already did a factory data reset and tested the phone BEFORE installing or restoring ANY apps, and the problem persists, then service/repair is next step.

Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low

Errrr no! I'm not sending my phone in to you when it has been proven to be a software fault.  How about telling your dev team to pull their fingers out and fix the bugs they created rather than wasting our time having to send in our phones to have nothing be found or have the ip68 sealing broken and not resealed properly.  Stop being so (removed) lazy and do something about this other than giving us cut and paste replies and wasting our time.  This is seriously the last Moto phone I will be owning despite using them since the StarTac. Unfortunately it would appear this is the opinion of quite a few people on here and without the support of people like us you guys are going to be looking for different jobs as Lenovo will probably just sell off a brand that is rapidly becoming toxic in the eyes of consumers.

Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low

This is clearly a software problem (since the Oreo 8 update) given the intermittent volume when it suddenly gets so low it can't be heard. Because of this, I'm sometimes missing email and text notifications and I've stopped trusing the phone. That's not not good for word-of-mouth or to ensure a repeat customer.  I'm also not sending my phone in for repair so that they can reboot it and send it back to me. By the way, resetting the phone to factory default has clearly not worked based onj the replies.

lol JM! You do realise that by editing out the word I used that was literally harmless you have now implied that the word used was potentially an "f word" derivative or similar Smiley Very Happy Oh and I see you have now added it to your banned word list as well. Are you a nun?

How about you stop being such a prude and actually do something that we could consider helpful other than try to justify your existence on these forums by censoring needless things? Just a thought....

Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low - easy workaround

WOW! This absolutely worked for me. I thought I had a busted phone. Thanks for the post; I was ready to get a protection plan put on the phone. Now I know it's a confirmed software issue.

Re: Speaker sound suddenly became very low

I'm facing the same issue.

I've noticed that the problem happens after a call, so i think that the device is not understanding that the call is ended and that it must switch the audio output back to the "loud" speaker and keeps reproducing it on the "incall" speaker.

It is really disappointing that i need to restart my phone after each call i receive, so please fix it for us!

Think about it, you buy a new phone, spend a lot of money on it, hoping that the new device will help you in your routine, and suddenly you miss a call, a message or any important notification because the so called "smart"phone cannot handle the process of switching between speakers. Think about the amount of problems that can happen because of such a "simple" problem.

And about the solutions:

- I did not spent money on a new phone which I need to restart after every call. It is not a solution;

- I did not spent money on a new phone which I need to do a Factory Reset to try to solve such a simple problem, I'm not willing to backup all my data hoping to solve the problem;

- I did not spent money on a new "IP 68 certified" phone which speaker stops working because of Dust;

- I did not spent money on a new phone which I need to disconnect from my Smartwatch to make it work;

- I did not spent money on a new phone which I need to turn off the Bluetooth and have to connect the devices all over again every time it stops accting as a phone.

And no, it doesn't matter that X4 is not a high end device, it is a phone and it is supposed to work as a phone, which is not happening as we can see.

Thanks for "helping" us....
