It cant be disabled. This is a design of all motorola phones. It should only ascend for the forst few seconds of a 30 second ringtone.

one option is to enable vibrate on ring. That should notify you immediately.

IMHO, it should be configurable, on/off & increase time.
The only truly stupid question is the one you SHOULD have asked - but DIDN'T.

Ascending ringtones again?!

2018-07-06, 16:58 PM

Hi there,

Just upgraded from a Z Play which also had the ascending ringtone issue which was fixed by a software update after many complaints in the forum's . Now I'm seeing the same issue on my z2 force, despite upgrading the software, doing a factory reset on the phone then downloading ally apps and data .

Has anyone else seen this? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi fraunhofer,

Thanks for posting. I haven't heard of this before, the ascending ringtone was implemented way before Oreo for Z Play and other Motorola phones and there's no native way for us to change the ascending ringtone. Thanks for your feedback though, I will pass this along to the Product Team.

Best regards,
Rich

Thanks Rich! I'm wondering if its specific to the bluetooth being connected as i did notice it happen more frequently when bluetooth was connected to something (ie my headphones or my watch).

Rich if you have such a great team to assist, how about assisting us to have the option to turn off escalating ringtone. I have the Moto Z force droid and I hate it. It's not a 2 or 3 second delay. It's anywhere from 5 to 7 rings for the person who is calling before the actual ringtone even starts. I am so tired of people asking why I take so long to answer my phone. I have to explain it's because of the lame escalating ringtone that Motorola is forcing on us. I hate this phone, if it's not freezing up like a brick, I'm missing calls from not hearing the ringtone or people just hanging up. I've owned nothing but Motorola smartphones but if this will be a continued feature on their phones, it'll be my last.
