How do I assign custom audio files for notifications?

2018-04-28, 17:42 PM

I have custom audio files in both .ogg and .mp3 files that I want to use for the default notification but I can't figure out where to copy them to so they are recognized in Settings\Sound\Advanced\Default notification sound setting. It only shows the default ones that came on the phone. I'vetried copying them to the Notifications folder, created Audio\notifications folder, created Media\Audio\Notifications folder... nothing works.

Any ideas how to do this on this phone?

Running 8.0.0

Ringtones?

The only truly stupid question is the one you SHOULD have asked - but DIDN'T.

Also, I'm trying to change the google calendar notification sound, it lets me see the audio files in my notifications folder, but when I select either .wav, .mp3 or .ogg files it states "Wrong file type, please select again."

What file type are they looking for?

Hi Gaf1,

Thanks for posting. May I know where did you download the file? I tried to replicate this with my Z Play and I was able to set my MP3 file as my notification. I went to File Manager > Music > Tap and hold the MP3 file then copy > Internal Storage > Paste in Notification folder.

Best regards,
Rich
