Moto Z2 Force T-Mobile Update Inbound

2017-11-15, 13:58 PM

T-Mobile Support site lists an update Inbound, Build NCX26.7, security patch update, and probably some bug fixes. Haven't received the update myself yet. Wondering if anyone else has received it yet? I was one of the few to get the NCX26.5 Build with August security patches before it was pulled, but received the update upon release. This update was slated to rollout on November 13th, so guessing it's being done in short waves.

Doesnt look like this is using google's new process of rollling out updates.  Guess we will have to wait until it's fully pushed to grab it....

Yeah. Sadly the new rollout system is an Oreo 8.0 & up feature. The update is still 7.1.1 sadly, but for T-Mobile users, you would think they would push this update fast since it fixes critical security risks. BLUEBORNE and KRACK.

Other carriers and OEMs have pushed these patches very speedy. But I guess after pulling the August patch (which I'm on) for whatever reason, they want to be cautious, but it's a very bad look, especially that being so close to a stock Android device and not needing to make sure OEM stuff will function on an update (aside from carrier stuff at times).

Motorola/Lenovo has dropped the ball a lot with updates. I mean Essential is a new company running stock Android really, and they got an Oreo beta out; heck even Samsung has their carrier branded phones on an Oreo beta! But here we are waiting on a simple security update because they want to do a slow rollout like this is Android of 5 years ago. I'm not impressed.

These tiny things are bad to have to see, or mention in my position, being an ambassador for this device too. I think I'm going to go back to Google directly and get a Pixel 2. Just not the XL, because of the screen problems, lol.

Hopefully we'll see a better update standard from Motorola/Lenovo someday soon.

Hello,

I woke up today to find the update available on my z2Force. It is updating right now. It is taking quite a while install after downloading. Not sure why. Hope this helps.
