Motorola cancelled my Z2 Force order without notice

2018-12-07, 15:13 PM

Did anyone else order the Moto Z2 Force yesterday on th $99 sale and get their order cancelled? Anyone know what's going on? I reached out to customer support and they said that they couldn't tell me anything and someone would be reaching out to me in 48 hours to let me know what's going on.

I saw the $99 Price posted on the Moto  Z2 Force landing page but when I clicked on the "BUY" link, there was no option to order at that price (everything was listed at the regular $720 list price).

My guess is that it was a glitch on their web site.

Hi Lazermn03,

Sorry to know about that. Motorola will never cancel any orders without your permission. We'll investigate this. Can you PM me the order number, your first and last name, email address, and your phone number? Really appreciate your post.

Best regards,

Shortly after posting my reply in this thread, the $99 special offer appeared on the web site again (see attached screenshot). Link wouldn't work - my guess this is a web site error (otherwise I would have ordered myself a Z2 Force with no hesitation!).

I just got the same email. I put in my order plenty early in the sale and their site still said they had stock. I'm not happy with Motorola at the moment at all. First, they tell me I need to wait 48 hours to hear back from the order department on why my order was cancelled and now this.

I love Moto devices and have kept my whole family using them since the flip phone RAZR, but this type of support will definetly change my thoughts on sticking with them for my next device. Not sure if this is a Lenovo issue or what, but it's sounding like a good time to start shop around. That's 8 moto using customers in my immediate family not to mention the numerious friends that I've always suggested use Moto devices that I will be shopping around for now.

Seriously @MotorolaUS @Moto??? I ordered early in the sale and the site stated there was still stock. Then almost 48 hours later I get this email. This is just terrible management of the sale. pic.twitter.com/hvjiaiYdaS

I placed my order around 5:30 am, the website still showed the deal active around 10 am.  Then around 8:30 pm I get the email saying my order was canceled. If I missed out that early, did anyone get the deal?

I got one, it says "Device Being Built" at order details, but don't know will it go further or not. On Ebay they sold about  3,690 pcs

Nothing to add ( They grabed more orders than could supply, a childish error for XXI century.

I'm still with Moto, but hey, guys, how can $720 device be sold at 99, and make old fans frustrating? Do it $199 all time. There were even such price ($229), but ATT locked, and support keeps silence about unlock posibility.
