What carrier?  No update for T-MO.  We're still on OCX27.1, December 2017.   Are we on a six-month schedule or something?  What happened to the monthly security updates?  With Android 8, I thought Google was supposed to be able to push security updates without carrier intervention.

The only truly stupid question is the one you SHOULD have asked - but DIDN'T.

2 months is very good for a T-Mobile phone. Some are still on December, like my LG V30 flagship...

Moto chose not to get treble with the z2 . Mainly because they pushed it out with nouget and it would require a full restet and format to switch over to the new segments .

Moto launched the Z2 in July of 2017.

Android Oreo was first released on Aug 21st 2017.

So Moto could not have had anything but 7.11 or 7.12.

Since it did not ship with Oreo it will not support Treble.

Google made it clear that all devices that ship with 8.0 or higher must support Treble.

Exactly thank you for making the point that it was a conscious choice to not pick up treble that was only a month away .

So... Did the fact that it shipped with 7.x REQUIRE that it specifically NOT support treble?  They surely knew that treble was coming and that not supporting it would handicap this phone for its entire lifetime.  Sounds like a severe case of "lack of planning" to me.

Was the Black Friday special pricing intended to dump a brand new handicapped flagship phone on unsuspecting users?  I HAD to replace my phone Black Friday weekend due to a dead MotoX2013, and I THOUGHT I had bought a phone that would support the upcoming new stuff... including timely updates that DON'T require the carriers to twiddle their thumbs for a few months before they get around to releasing security updates for Moto's flagship phone.  That's my ONLY complaint about my Z2F.  I KNEW I'd need a screen protector & case - I ordered them the same day I ordered the phone.  But I THOUGHT I'd get prompt updates for the life of the phone.

The only truly stupid question is the one you SHOULD have asked - but DIDN'T.

After a long history of Restarting Problems, my z2 force was sent to service. They said first that battery is the culprit and changed that. Then still prob persisted for them. Now they are saying that they are going to replace the motherboard. :smileymad:
