Why am I unable to send someone a gif through messages. The gif is built-in.

I have seen that too. It only works on the android messages app (blue icon) - hopefully the tmo version will get updated.  The green mesaages app is a special tmo build i think.

That stinks cause the Android Messages app doesn't support advanced messenging on TMobile yet.

i have both installed - use blue one if i have too. But so far i don't see any differentce in the advanced messaging support. I have a GSM Z - always used Blue messages app, never had a problem.

Difference is when someone is actively writing you'll get a grey pop up saying that, you can send much larger files, messages seem to be faster. Both parties have to have it though.

The one Motorola is using for T-Mobile is a modified version of AOSP(green).  The proprietary (blue) is owned and done by Google.  Motorola could have used the Blue in anticipation of T-Mobile switching to universial profile this quarter, or if they went with AOSP they could have enabled it.  I feel some of the problems I have been happen will change when T-Mobile finishes their RCS conversion.
