USB webcam endoscope support

2019-03-22, 9:33 AM

I purchased a USB endoscope/webcam. The device works fine on my laptop, but plugging it into my telephone only shows up "USB charging" in the pulldown menu. I tried with usb debugging turned on and off. It makes no difference. The camera is not detected. I see on other devices and on the internet that more people have problems with this. Has anyone found a solution for this?

Hi NTwoOo,

Thanks for reporting, let me try to help. Just to narrow down—may I know from where did you purchase along with the Model name of the Webcam? If you could share us a link from your place of purchase, that would be great.

Also, may I know how are you trying to connect the Webcam? Are you using any third-party app to do so? Are we talking about Moto Z2 Force—correct?

Regards,

Swaraj

Hi, yes, my phone is the Moto Z2 Force. It was purchased in the Netherlands. The camera is

The camera works under Windows and with a Samsung A5 using CameraFi. CameraFi doesn't detect the camera on the Z2 force.

Did you try reversing the USB connector? The multi-mode USB might not be reversible since it is wired for the USB A and Micro B which are not reversible. I always prefer a direct USB Type C connection instead of an adapter for these sorts of issues.
