VR Not Working After Update...Please Help!!!

I use the VR on my Z2 Force all of the time. Since the update it has not worked at all. The screen looks distorted and it doesn't calibrate correctly when using the Daydream Headset. I have tried using other VR programs with no luck. I also performed a factory reset without installing any of the apps I had previosuly and that did not work either. I hate these forced updates with no ability to roll back. It looks like the Apple way of thinking has no reached Android devices. If thiskeeps up I will just join the masses and get an Iphone. I need help. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Technically, YouTube vr, Google Photos VR, Netflix VR, seems to work, but Daydream itself, calibrates wrong, Skybox claims the phone is not daydream capable, Plex loads full screen but still takes controller input, some other app loads and looks fine but doesn't sync with the controller. Basically, Moto broke the  Daydream readiness of this phone with the update. Which other Moto Zs got this update that were Daydream ready?

Contacted first with Lenovo: find Daydream support

Then Daydream: find Moto(Lenovo)

Feeling desperate...

This has been a very frustrating phone. This will certainly be the LAST Motorola/Lenovo product I buy. I may go apple. If I stay with Android, I'll go to Samsung.

Do we not even get responses from Moto employees/experts anymore?

Have they acknowledged that they broke it anywhere else?

I got a Google support person to say that they'll create a ticket/investigation, but now way to follow it or be updated about its status.

Ok, you called me out. How can I help you? I don't have a Z2 with Pie... I'm not getting it so I can't trouble shoot your issue at all. We're volunteers here. And there's not many left due to attitudes like this directed at us, who don't work at Motorola. Don't know why an agent hasn't responded yet but they work for Motorola.

I did just see a VR update for the app recently. Maybe that will help. Remember Motoxprts are here to help for free. Moto agents work for them.

Wow, no need to get defensive. I've worked as a volunteer and am the liaison to many volunteer groups, I feel your pain, but that did seem like a legitimate concern. I got a lot of official and quasi-official responses when I brought issues to this forum in the past (how helpful they were is an entirely different matter, but I will say that the xprts were usually more empathetic, so your tone surprises me).

 

I also noticed a VR Services Update (something I did uninstall and reinstall, even though it wasn't on Google's list of steps to try. I also think I was working with a Pixel support guy, reading from a Daydream support script for the first time ever). I will go try my Daydream, again, and perhaps a cardboard viewer I have lying around, and report back.

Thanks to Google and whoever else might have called them and alerted them to a potential issue.
