Re: We need you for the MFN!

In the past, Motorola has supported their phones 2 years after release (much like Google does now). I would expect Motorola to continue with this support policy for the Z2 - at least 2 major OS updates and 3 years of security updates and bug fixes. This would imply that Android Pie will be the last OS upgrade with security update support to continue until the end of 2019.

Given that the Z2 Force is only one of two Motorola phones approved under the  Android Enterprise Recommended program, I wonder if Lenovo/Motorola's support commitment for this phone will extend beyond the typical minimum for Android.  What is interesting to note is the following commitment:

  • Delivery of Android security updates within 90 days of release from Google, for a minimum of two years

I have been using the projector Mod for slide presentations which has attracted a lot of attention at my office.  My corporate IT colleagues are curious in knowing more about the future support plans (from Motorola) for this phone.

soak test is actually not beta but the final software. Beta goes by the name "testdrive" rather than soak.

I really want to participate in the test of Pie.

I already did in the past with my old Moto Z and Oreo and I would love to do it again with my new Z2 Force and pie.

I have never been selected to test any of the soak versions that have received either the Moto Z or the Moto X Style (two of the Moto terminals I've had).

But I would be delighted to be part of this soak program for the Moto Z2 Force and contribute my bit to make the final version of android 9 as stable as possible.

If I have, I'm lucky this time.
