Re: What's everyone using to replace the notification LED?

I'm using an App called "Flash Alerts 2" that blink the smartphone flash on notifications, calls and SMS.

Notification LED or Always on Display

2018-07-11, 4:31 AM

I know my Z2F has a notification LED. I also know it doesn't use the LED generally which is dumb. I've rotated to a position at work where I need to check if I have a missed text or call often.

1) Is there a way to turn on the LED? I don't want to use the flash because its dangerous when I'm driving

2) If not is there a way to keep the Moto Display on or have it come and stay on when a notification pops up?

3) If not that, are there other things I can do?

Check out this previous discussion on the topic:

I set up my messaging app ( Verizon's Message+) to do a repeat reminder when I have an unread text message, so it will beep about once a minute for 10 mins. It's under the Settings | Notifications menu inside the app.

Thanks! I was using the stock (not from phone) Google Messages app but that doesn't do repeat notifications so I am using Pulse which does. None of the Always on Display apps are working right for me.

Maybe this should be a plea to Moto/Lenovo to enable LED usage in an update.

I use Textra. You can set it up also to repeat the notification sound for however long you want...

Hi Crcostel,

Thanks for posting, that is correct. The alternative way for you to see if you have notification is through Moto App. Just go to Moto > Toggle on Display > Show all notification content.

Best regards,
