What screen protector to get?

2017-07-31, 14:53 PM

As we know the Shatterproof could be prone to scratches. Back when the 1st gen came out, a lot of people on Android Central recommended a Flexible Glass Screen Protector from Verizon:

https://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/flexible-glass-display-protector-moto-z-force-droid/

i got that one based on the forum recommendations, and I thought it was awesome. There does not seem to be the same one available this year. this time the Verizon one is Tempered instead of Flexible:

And they have a Zagg one:

which one to get?

There seem to be quite a few listed on Amazon as well. Now that the Z2 Force is not a Verizon exclusive, there should be lots of choices.

You can't go wrong with Zaag products.  There's a lifetime guarantee with their products.

I've got Insipio or however it's spelled. It's full tempered glass and covers 95% of the front glass only cutouts for sensors.

There are reports on other forums that the Verizon one you linked is in fact flexible glass and the website is lableled wrong for some reason.

I use IQ Shield LiQuiSkin self healing protector. Affordable, easy to install and available on Amazon Prime. I've used them for years (Droid Maxx & Turbo 2) Never had to replace one. Since screen is "shatter proof" glass protectors seem redundant to me, just need something to stop scratches. I even have one for my smart watch (same one for 2 yrs)

I have that one a Z2 play and like it a lot. I put a Skinomi on my Z2 Force and it has more wrinkles.... it could be me using a credit card as recommended. The IQ Shield comes with a softer squeege, and that may be the difference.

I bought a Zaag one from Verizon and they could not get it to stick, especially on the bottom. They tried 3 different ones.. I've read this is a problem

I realize this thread isn't terribly active, but in case people are still looking for recommendations I just picked up a tempered glass protector from Amazon that installed perfectly and doesn't have any bubbles or lifted corners:

SuperShieldz on Amazon

Note that it is an "updated" version. There is a prior listing so I assume the corrected some manufacturing defect, so if you order make sure you get the updated one.

I reviewed it there and attached some photos if you want to see my results:

My Review

Anyway, it was cheap and seems perfect.
