Re: WiFi Issues Z2 Force (Verizion)

Based upon the recomendation in this thread, I tried the guest SSID and had no luck.

Interesting @Jay761 on the Play 2 - My wife's does not have the issue. Her phone is older (when it was first relased), so i wonder if there was a componet swap. Also she is still on 7.1.1, not Oreo.

Plus 1-ing this.  Just got a Moto Z2 Force (but not Verizion), and have this problem.  Haven't set up a guest network yet, will probably try that.  My wife has a Moto Z (EDIT -- not Force, just the OG Z), no problem. I had a Moto X Pure Edition, no problem there either.

HELLO MOTO!  Help us!

EDIT -- Created a guest network, that works.  But, per speedtest, slower than via a laptop connected to the primary network.

This is bigger than a Google issue, unless Google developed the WiFi interface for the Moto Z2 series of phones. I say this because I do not use Google hardware as part of my home WiFi. I use an Ubee brand home gateway (modem/router combo).

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this issue? I have has this problem since I bought the phone over a year ago. I thought it was my router dropping it out. I have a LnkSys EA6100. It drops out inconsistantly but around every 90-200 seconds and reconnect again. This is horrendous for streaming on Wifi. Any help?

Yes, my solution was to drop Verizion, go to Google Fi and get a Pixel. Never been happier.

UPDATE:  I got a Pixel 3 XL, and gave my son the Moto Z2 Force after a full FDR.

I'd forgotten to tell him about the wifi problem at first.  When I did tell him about it, he said he's having no problems with the main Google WiFi SSID.  So...FDR FTW?

Despite software updates my Moto Z2 Play never worked correctly on wifi using the Google Wifi mesh system. I had to connect to a guest account to make it work but that created issues with me wanting to print and having control over some of my Google home devices because I was not on the main network, just the guest. I did not want to have to share all of my devices over the guest netowrk.

I ended up taking advantage of the $300 trade in towards an Oneplus 6t at T-Mobile. Glad to get rid of the Moto phone and have a phone that works and gets regular updates. I'm done with Moto. If anyone is reading this and lives in Northeast Ohio- I'll give you a few of the moto mods I have (battery and wireless charging).

Well it's as plain as I can make it; after attempting to contact support for help with my Z2 Force's WiFi issues; which go figure I find out is a known issue since DAY 1. They won't fix it because the warranty ended 11/18/2018. I explained I found over 17 pages on just Lenovo's website of issues and Motorola and Lenovo did nothing. They still won't do anything they want 150$ to look at it and then they may give me a replacement z2 force. I've had enough I am starting the process of a class action lawsuit against Motorola; and Lenovo and I wanted others to reach out to me. If you've had issues please contact me. Thanks

I've had nothing BUT problems with me new Z2 sooner I got it. It's been about 4 months worth of emails trying to get them to understand. I don't want a used or refurbished phone when I paid for a NEW phone. I loved my first Z force after this one I won't ever but another one.

Mine won't stay connected to WiFi, shows incoming calls when it feels like it, among other issues. I'm in
