Re: Z2 Force Android Pie

I did not reply yet because I was still observing the behavior, trying to figure out more details/detect a pattern.

I did do a safe boot after your posting and tested a bit, but I could not reproduce the problem.  But when I did a normal boot again, it was still working. I opened all my installed apps in case any of these caused the issue, but it didn't happen anymore.

Then I remembered again that on the first day, after rebooting my router several times I finally rebooted my phone and that temporarily fixed my issue as well.

So it works better for a while after a reboot, but I could not figure out yet, when the problems start to appear again. My impression so far was that issues start again, once you connect to a different WLAN than to the first one after restarting.

Once it's in this state, the problems are really severe, it's not just slower, it's more like 95 % of the time I have no connection at all (even if it still shows a connection) and in the few seconds in between I can barely even load a webpage before it stops working again.

If it works after booting into safemode, it's most likely an app causing the issue. Sadly you would have to try to see you would need to see what one or ones cause the issue. The way I deal with issues like these, is to do a factory reset without using backup to restore anything. Then install a few apps at a time until I find the problems. Most of the times a factory reset without backup will fix most issues after an upgrade.

No. As I said it works for a while in general, no matter if it's a safe boot or a normal reboot.

I assume it would occur in safe boot too if I would keep using it for a while.

That's why I also ran all apps after booting in normal mode again and it did not trigger the problem. The triggering event is something else.

Further others already confirmed that the reset did not fix the problem. And with the increasing number of reports...

I think it starts when connecting to a different network and I will try to confirm my theory now.

Same here. My wife and I both have Z2Force, both updated to Pie and both have the low wifi with random disconnections issue.

Rebooting the phone seems to temporary fix the issue until you connect to another wifi, so the problem appears again. Very, very annoying. I hope for a fast update fixing the issue.

Arrived in Germany yesterday...

After one day it feels at least very stable and faster than Oreo.

But my z2F hardware ist nearly dead (vibration and some Sensors broken)...so i decided to buy another one. T-Mobile US phones are currenty very cheap.

Does someone know If ist possible to root such a phone and flash pie reteu on It?

Thanks, Sascha

I have a US Sprint phone with unlocked bootloader that I flashed Pie on using the directions at xda. Works fine. One nit: I am using it with USA T-Mobile, and it drops down to 3G during a phone call, even though it's supposedly provisioned for VoLTE. But otherwise, working fine.

Hi Mch21,

I'd like to check your software build first, can you please update your profile with the current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me check. Make sure that the options under Settings > System > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

See here for the instruction.

Best regards,
Rich
