motorola Z2 force Edition with Sprint--VoiceMail

2017-08-18, 22:03 PM

I have just gotten the Moto z2 force edition with Sprint. It is fantastic so far. I have only one issue. I have a VM notification that has appeared on the top of my phone. You can not delete it and it will not go away. When you touch on it, it dials directly into VM as if I have a message there waiting. (of course I do not have one waiting). I have also attempted to reset my VVM but to na avail. This notification will not go away . I have tried restarting, FDR, and restarting in safe mode to aide in this quest, also to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

This a not uncommon carrier problem that happens on all phones at times.

Try leaving yourself a new voice message, then listen and delete. If that fails to fix it, call sprint and they can reset the indicator.

All voicemails must be deleted before the notification will go away. Did you leave any to deal with later?

I have Sprint on a Moto X 2015. Behavior is the same as what you described. It's not the phone.

I deleted all voice mails. I had one that was saved and I deleted the new message and the old one. It still persists.

Did you try leaving a new one and deleting that? If so, time to call sprint.

I called and left myself a VM and then called in and deleted it. It did not take of the issue. Actually it sends me a VVM notification. I delete the message and it still shows up as a notification.

You're going to have to call Sprint and have them reset your voicemail.  The underying issue is that Sprint still maintains a legacy (call in type) default voicemail system that doesn't interact very well with the visual voicemail app on the phone.  Its a PIA and entirely Sprint's fault.  Once you get the legacy VM reset, immediatly set up the visual VM app or google voice as VM.
