After calibrating the battery, it lasted me over a day of constant use. I then charged it up to 100% and it's performing wonderfully, the problem has been fixed. Thank you :D

I tried both, to recalibrate as well as to clear cache and still the issue persists. I'd hate to have to factory reset but I may not have a choice.

Is it okay if we look into your device? Please try charging your phone into safe mode and let it still for a while and observe if it will have the same behavior. Let me know how it goes.

As for this case, this has been raised to our Engineers and we are still waiting for feedback. I'll update everyone once I heard from them.

Re: Extreme battery drain Z2 Play

I am stuck with this issue with my phone ( Moto z2 play). It's been only 3 months since I bought this phone ...

The issue is .. even after charging to 100% the battery drains fast ( 100 to 93 in 10 mins ).

The phone shows 100% if I keep on using it.but when I restart it shows the updated percentage.(the drained percentage...:( )

Please help me with this...

I really like this phone and I don't want to loose it..

Let me help. I understand how inconvenient it is to have this same concern. May I ask if you have tried the steps mentioned in this thread? Can you please update your profile with the serial/IMEI/MEID number of your phone? This will help us investigate. Make sure that your Motorola Privacy is enabled under Settings. Let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Same problem over here.

We bought 2 Motorola Z2 Play and noticed after 1 week that the batteries doesn't behave the same way.

For testing purposes WiFi is switched off, data is switched off, all applications closed. Screen is off, too.

After 4 hours, one battery is still on 100%, the other one dropped to 90%. Both phones have the same setup.

Can you tell me if both of your cell phones have same carrier??

Yes, it's the same carrier.
However, in the meantime, I recalibrated batteries and now the both phones perform the very same way.
Must add that I googled arround and the only solution was found on this forum. I wonder how many other unfortunate owners exist all arround the world.

I am having the same problem with my phone. I have performed the hard reset several times, it seems to work for a time, but the issue keeps coming back. Today I started the day at 50% battery, it had been 24 hrs since I removed it from the charger.  5 hours later, I was using the phone with 45% and within 5 minutes it went to 0 and shutdown! The biggest drain is cell standby and google services.  What else can I do?
