@Agent_JM do you get my private message? Would be cool if you could check while mobile is still on top1 and my Signal so poor. Vodafone sends me a new sim card but its still yellow/orange all the time.

Yesterday i was in Hamburg/Germany and no green?! Is the mobile Display drawing (green/yellow/orange/red) wrong in latest firmware

I am also having this issue with my phone.  had a Z2 Play that got great battery life but had to RMA it for another reason. The phone that replaced it now gets very meh battery life. I'm losing 4-5% per hour when the phone is sitting there and doing nothing.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone facing high mobile standby drain and/or device idle battery drain got their battery replaced?

Is this problem still exist after replacing the battery?

Yes...the issue will continue to persist. Lenovo refuses to provide a software update for this bug. Even after the Oreo update. I ended up selling my Moto z2 play. Terrible on Motorolas part. All they try to do is provide work arounds or temporary solutions. I'll never by a moto again.

Thanks for the reply.

I think this issue can not be resolved simply by rolling out a patch as it might be a deep core problem. At the same time it is impossible to belief that this problem was not present or not noticed during testing of this device before launching in the market.

This device killing my nerves. I never facing so a problem with a Motorola device before.

Ive just bought a battery mod while the mobil eats my battery. Now it eats both.. .

It turns hot too when i use mobile only.

NFC wont work either right. Never have problems with moto x2, x play, z play.

What a worse device. A dev from a german bank saying the z play2 doesnt supports "NFC Extended Length"

My hopes are the Android8 Firmware. But nothing in Germany. Oh lord.

The moto devs saying my device is ok but i never get 5 bars (stand under a mobil cell tower.)

My last try today is testing a other carrier sim card. (Vodafone tells me its all ok.). Lets see.

Motorola please release oreo for EU users!

From what I can see while "lurking" on this thread across weeks, I doubt it's a software "bug" - if it were, the problem would be close to universal and it doesn't seem to be.  My Z2 Play came off the charger 17 hours ago at 80% charge (I don't charge it past 80% or so), and it's now at 55%.  Yes, Cell Standby shows up with Screen-on time as the biggest consumers of battery power, but overall net battery use is great here with the same stock 7.1.1 software as anyone else without the Oreo upgrade.  And while it's obvious there are quite a few people with that issue, it's obviously not the entire production run.

Yes, there COULD be a hardware issue with a few motherboards, but it sounds for all the world that something is keeping the phones awake when they SHOULD be entering their "doze" mode and conserving battery life.  Has anyone with the problem tried running the phone "bare" with NO added apps for a few days after a factory reset?   The stock apps for text, email, calendar and contacts aren't always one's first choice but they'd provide the basic needed functions for a test ...

I'm not a Motorola fanboy, but a systemwide "bug" would create a TON of attention in a current-model phone from any company.

So it seems the Bad Signal isnt a device Problem. That's good. With the other carrier ive got a much much better stable Signal! Why my z play1 shows me only green with the same (other carrier) card and my z play2 only red/orange (with great 5 bars LTE) i cant say. Maybe a Display draw bug. Who knows. So ive to contact my carrier again bout the Problem. But isnt Moto fault.

But why the NFC only works on the Front Display and not on the back is a bit strange. With the z play1 it works without a problem too.

@onsted

Can you please share a screenshot of your battery usage?

For a 3000mAh battery which supposed to be inside Z2P, 30mAh consumption will be equivalent to 1% battery use, but I'm surprised to see that if something consumes 36mAh it's showing 1% at the same time another app consuming 62mAh showing 1%, I think there is bug in the battery usage app too. I'm using Accubattery app for 3weeks, accubattery seems to show correct app usage as doing a bit back calculation seems to match the battery usage.

So my conclusion is the dafault battery usage app/feature in Z2P is showing wrrong amount of battery being consumed by the app interms of mAh and even showing wrong % of battery being consumed. Since Accubattery can calculate and show battery consumed by apps only & doing back calculation matches the  battery consumed (if phone is kept in fligh mode), therefore possibility it is a software bug too.

And there is extreme possibility that moto/lenovo well aware about this but they are not interested in solving this as their main aim is to sell this device not aftersell support. Until and unless we (those who are facing these problems) don't stop buying moto/lenovo, they will continue to stick with this policy.
