Moto Z2 separating

2019-07-27, 13:35 PM

The warranty replacement phone I received in January is now separating on the top left corner, making the proximity sensor not work. Phone has never been dropped, always in it's case. I'm becoming very disappointed in the craftsmanship of the Moto Z line.

I purchased 3 z2 play phones from Verizon about 2 years ago. Just past 1 year, my wife's prox sensor failed where she could not hang up the phone. Long story, short, swollen battery pushed up on screen affecting sensor. Verizon sent replacement refurbished phone that didn't work. Sent another phone. Lo and behold, another swollen battery and failed prox sensor. You would think Lenovo would issue a recall and replace these phones that have swollen batteries. Instead, we have all the money in the world that keep supporting these giant companies who don't care if the battery catches fire against someone's face causing permanent bodily injury and deformity, or burns someone's house down causing them to lose everything they ever held dear in life, including life. For a phone battery they know is bad.

Battery is swelling. Gas pressure is building up. Eventually, the battery will erupt into uncontrollable fire. Luckily, you know about it now. Get it to a repair shop. There's, obviously, no recall on this known problem. I returned one to Verizon just over a year after buying, the replacement for that phone did the same. I still have my loss of money here. Thank goodness it wasn't my son's.
