Calendar data just vanished for a second time (Moto Z Droid Force - XT-1650)

2020-10-27, 16:41 PM

I have just had my Calendar data vanish for the second time.

I have just run the Lenovo Moto Rescue and Smart Assistant to see if I might find a copy there, but all I see is options for App, Picture, Contact, Songs, and Video Exports (by category), and an entire backup that ends up in C:\Program_Data\LMSA.

What am I missing here?

  1. Is it possible to back this up at all - either through LMSA, some Verizon App (since this is a Verizon phone)?
  2. Is this a sign of a defective phone than needs to be replaced?
  3. Is this a sign that the operating system needs to be re-flashed through LMSA?
  4. Is the Calendar a stand-lone app, or is this actually Google Calendar that can be synch'ed (and therefor restored) to/from the "cloud"?

It seems peculiar that this is the one app that has data disappearing?

I would presume it's Google Calendar - easy to check, find it in Play Store and it will give you the option to Open instead of Install.

If you are using G Calendar you can set it to back up in Google Drive or export everything to a standard which other Calendar apps can use.

Interestingly, when I went to my Google account, the calendar entries were all there, and seemed to re-synch to that on the XT-1650.

But, exactly how this happened I am not sure.

At the risk of appearing clueless, can someone give me the exactly method whereby one sets the Synching.  Is this set on XT-1650, on my Google account by way of my web login, or somehow on both "sides"?  (A reference or two - perhaps an instruction sheet or YouTube, would be greatly appreciated)

My thanks in advance
