Gamepad mod Battery issue

2017-10-15, 1:46 AM

I've been using the gamepad mod with the Moto z2 force and have noticed that it never uses the built in extra battery when gaming. Instead it only uses my phone battery. As far as I can tell the extra battery is only powering the red LEDs. Ive even tried draining my phone battery and it never uses the mod battery to power the phone. I really don't have any complaints as far as the controller goes but was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if this is a known bug and is being patched via software update.

Hi dabrego123

Do you have any other mods that you can try? Were you able to check/verify if the Mod is fully charged?  Have you tried resetting the Mod? May I ask, when did it start?

Yes I have no issues with any other mod (projector, jbl, Mophie)

The gamepad is up to date and connected properly.

Since I've received the unit the extra battery has never charged my phone. The controller works as it should besides that.

Haven't found any solutions to this issue but I have a feeling that this is a software problem they can patch with an update. Now that they know it's an issue with multiple users hopefully they will work on this sooner than later

I have the same issue!  I have the Incipio battery, projector, and JBL speaker and they all charge the phone just fine....the gamepad just simply drains it.....any solutions yet?

Is there anyone with Lenovo or Motorola that can update us on this issue?
